How Projects Work That Offer Incentives

These Terms of Use explain your relationship with Sponsor4Change in various situations. For this section it differs a bit because it explains the relationship between creators and backers of Sponsor4Change projects. Lastly it breaks down who is responsible for certain things and you gain an understanding what you’re agreeing to when you create or back a Sponsor4Change project.

Sponsor4Change is a site that houses creative projects. When a creator posts a campaign on Sponsor4Change, they’re letting other people form a contract with them if they want to donate. When someone donates to a campaign that offers incentives they need to fulfill those orders that they offered. However, Sponsor4Change is not a part of this contract this contract is a direct legal agreement between the campaign creators and their backers. After a project is successfully funded and receives the items that they asked for by Sponsor4Change, the creator must fulfill what they promised to donors and provide them with what they asked for if applicable then the campaign will be officially complete. Campaign Creators should maintain an open line of communication with their backers if they’re offering incentives for donation. Some things can change during the process of fulfilling the incentives that was promised to donors. So creators should be honest and relay this information to their donors. Lastly donors don’t expect to receive your incentives once a campaign close a lot of these projects are first time projects and require more time than a fully operating business so be reasonable. If something happens to where a campaign creator can’t complete a project and/or fulfill the incentives that they offered. Then they must update donors as to what work has been done, how funds were used, and what prevented them from finishing the project as planned. Also they must prove that they worked in good faith to bring backers what they were promised and they need to be able to show that they’ve used funds that they received appropriately and made every reasonable effort to complete the project as promised. Honesty is key as well and campaign creators are solely responsible for fulfilling the promises made in their project. If campaign creators are unable to plead their case, they may be subject to legal issues with the donors that funded their project.

How the process works

This section provides information on how backing and creating projects works such as how money gets collected by Sponsor4Change, whether pledges can be changed or canceled, and how creators can contact backers to provide rewards.

Comprehensive List on How It Works:

  1. Campaign Creators submit application to site, which
    • Details the purchase location and amounts for each item
    • States the currency the product or service needs to be bought in
    • Includes a budget for the entire campaign
    • Pick which category that you want your project to fall under such as:    Games, Food, Technology, Travel, etc.
    • Submits the materials they want listed in the campaign (description, pictures, videos, etc.)
  2. The campaign is launched and can be shared via social media
  3. When the campaign ends, campaign creators will be charged a 3%service fee from Sponsor4Change
  4. After a campaign is complete, Sponsor4Change will then purchase the product or service (*All of the products or services that you list will be purchased with our company card, we will not buy products or services via check or cash)
  5. All campaigns must at least raise the money for the first product or service they want otherwise the campaign will not be funded. (If you’re only raising funds for one specific bill that can be paid down that is related to a service such as: a quote, medical bill, etc. then we will pay that down for you.) *Now for products or services that have totals that are final and if you didn’t raise enough funds to hit that goal we will not pay for that product or service.
  6. Campaign owners will pay for the shipping of any products and taxes.
  7. After the service is provided, the campaign will not be able to take any more donations.
  8. If there is any leftover funds or campaigns that exceed the campaign goal that money will be sent to a non-profit partner and the campaign creator will have the choice to pick which non-profit they want to support.
  9. Now for campaigns that raise funds at 125 percent or higher we will provide those campaign creators with 50 percent of the leftover donations and the other 50 percent will go to a non-profit partner of their choosing.

Sponsor4Change will charge your account if the campaign reaches its fundraising goal or goals by the end of the campaign date. First you will provide your payment information when you pledge but you will not be charged right away. The donation you made will only be taken if the project has reached its fundraising goal or goals by the close out date. Another thing to note is if the campaign hasn’t reached its fundraising goal or goals you won’t be charged.

Certain situations may arise and we can reserve a charge on your card. Sponsor4Change and the payment partners on the site may charge you by the payment method you made for any amount up to the pledge you made at any time between the pledge date and the day funds are collected.

When it comes to changing the amount you pledged or canceling a pledge you can in fact do that with the exception of the last week of campaign. Contact us if you have any more questions concerning this topic. The date for incentives is the creator’s estimate and should be listed on the campaign. This date is not guaranteed to be fulfill by that date. Something can happen along the process which can cause delays. A creator may contact you in regards to your reward. Most likely the questions that they may ask you may relate to shipping the rewards that you asked for. Stay in contact with them because this can help with their turnover time. Sponsor4Change will not give refunds. Responsibility for finishing a project lies entirely with the project creator. Sponsor4Change does hold funds on the creators’ behalf then buys their products or services, but after that we cannot guarantee that a creators’ work will be fully completed based on the items we buy. All we can prove is that we gave them the tools necessary to take their ideas to the next level if they choose to use them that’s entirely up to them but we do know that these people can no longer just use the money that they collect for their own free will. Sponsor4change and our partners charge fees before we provide your items that your campaign lists. In some instances, pledges will not be collected, which might reduce the amount of funding you get. For example, some donors’ payment methods may expire before the campaign ends and if they don’t provide updated information for us we can’t guarantee that the amount of funding you receive will be exactly equal to the full amount pledged minus the fees we charge so that’s why we stress having multiple items on your budget. If payment/card disputes arise we will help you. Donors may dispute a charge to their bank/card issuer we will represent you in the dispute. We will inform you if a dispute has been made we may ask you to provide evidence for us so we can resolve the issue in your favor. If the donor wins the dispute we then will charge the card number that you provided us when you created your campaign. Every campaign will not launch as soon as possible. We reserve the right to not approve every campaign and some issues can possibly arise on the site.  Do not think you’ll be able to immediately collect your product or service that you asked for. For instance, there will be a delay between the end of a successful campaign and being provided the items you asked for.

Some funds pledged by backers are collected by payment providers. Each payment provider is its own entity and Sponsor4Change isn’t responsible for its performance. Sponsor4Change will not pay for the shipping of the products that you’re raising funds for it is your responsibility to pay for these costs or add the costs to the products when you’re raising funds for them. International fees will be applied to international campaigns that are raising over a 2,500 dollar goal or goals due to currency exchange. So campaigns that need products or services bought in currencies besides the dollar and are raising a campaign goal that exceeds the equivalent of 2,500 dollars compared to their preferred currency will be charged additional international fees.
